SOLD OUT – This workshop is for women and non-binary folks who wish to gain introductory knowledge and experience with power tools. Participants will learn about and use some basic tools, including the miter saw, power drill and palm sander. Following demonstrations, participants can create their own simple and unique hanging shelf from repurposed materials. We hope that following this workshop, you will feel more empowered and comfortable using power tools!

Mariah is a long-time Gainesville resident with a 5-year work history in construction and finish carpentry. In her free time she likes biking the Hawthorne trail and identifying plants.

Class costs $10-$25 sliding scale. Please donate beyond the $10 if you can to ensure the financial feasibility of holding these workshops into the future. Class fees cover teachers, materials, staff, the space, and promotion of the event.
